How to turn off location on TikTok

TikTok is not a location-sharing app, so there is no one on the other end to be notified. Two switches matter: TikTok's own Location Services setting inside the app, and the app's location permission in your phone's settings. TikTok's help page says that with Location Services off it still estimates an approximate location from your SIM card region, IP address and device system settings.

TikTok does document the difference this makes: approximate location is an area of 1-4 square miles or 3-10 square kilometers, where precise location is an area of 100-1000 square feet.
